In the Fall of 2013, the USC Davis School of Gerontology launched the Creativity and Aging Initiative. The overarching mission of the Initiative is to build a foundation of support to promote the science and practice of creative aging. Our goals are to:

  • Facilitate cutting-edge science on the benefits of creative aging
  • Identify best practices for creative engagement to promote optimal aging
  • Support creative aging activities in the community
  • Celebrate the achievements of older artists, musicians, writers, actors, dancers, and creative agers in a variety of forms

With its renowned faculty, strong connection to the community, commitment to improving older adults' quality of life, and its newly established Sophie Davis Art Gallery, the USC Davis School is dedicated to advancing the health and longevity of the world's aging population through creative engagement.
